Losing Faith

He lost God
Tossed about the raging seas.
Y’all he’s unraveling.
Coming apart at the seams.
Anchored under
By a foundation
Of speculative conversations,
Rooted in unconventional
They gave him a box
To keep his thoughts in;
Taught him this is how to please.
The moment he stepped back
He came under siege.
Wounded by those he called family.

About Z.

Poetic pipe and cigar enthusiast rifling through the haunted memories of a not so distant past while openly wrestling with faith and God. A rambling writer with the misguided notion that he has something to say. His only redeeming qualities are his wife and children.
