Dearest Wife

Dearest Wife,

You speak in touch. A love language capturing; drawing me closer, breaking me down, melting my cold. It is healing – freeing me of the bondage by which I have been long ensnared.

But too, it carries the reflection of my shame. Makes clear my brokenness. Lays before me failures that I’ve refused to face. And it gives me great courage to give up me and give in to us.

Though I’d love to claim to be the hero of our story; it is you – the unstoppable force charging through the hard dark, shining your light, that we might see both wholeness and holiness in our sacred union.

Your disarming love and kindness throws down all the distractions; grants me the strength to set sword to the heads of all these vipers.

You are drawing me out of the darkness and into light; showing me life worth living.

And I love you for that.
