Wishing for someone to die,
And wanting to harm someone,
Are two
Completely
Different things.
For instance,
I’m not saying
I want to cut your break lines.
I’m saying
That I want your breaks to quit working.
I want your car to run off a bridge,
And you to end up the fatal single car accident news story
That I enjoy my dinner by.
I’m not saying
I want to throw you off a ship
Into the hungry seas.
I’m saying
I hope you lean too far over the railings,
Slip,
And plunge into the ocean.
I hope the lookout doesn’t see you;
Doesn’t hear your cries for help.
I hope the only thing that sees you thrashing
Is a shark
Feeling hunger pangs.
You see,
I don’t want to kill you,
I just want you to die…
Naturally…
In a freak accident.
And I think
I think these things because
Every day,
You take a little more of my life away.
Every day,
You are killing me so subtly,
That if I raise my hand to protect me,
No one will believe me
When I claim self-defense.
So the next time you’re near a fence,
I hope it’s electric.
I hope the skies open up and pour down rain;
Leaving you
With a strong enough shock,
To make your heart stop.
Wow, you want this person dead.

Dark AND relatable (for most people, I think, at one time or another). Great read!
