Poem of the Month – “Waste” by Buddy Wakefield

I know I’m late for Poem of the Month where I feature a poem at the end of the month-ish. The Poem of the Month is a poem I share that stood out during my poetry readings and watchings.

The Poem of the Month for the month of September is “Waste” by Buddy Wakefield. Buddy Wakefield is a powerful spoken word poet who wields metaphor and emotion like a finely honed knife aimed straight for the heart. (And I love this man for that.)

Please enjoy “Waste” by Buddy Wakefield:

About Z.

Poetic pipe and cigar enthusiast rifling through the haunted memories of a not so distant past while openly wrestling with faith and God. A rambling writer with the misguided notion that he has something to say. His only redeeming qualities are his wife and children.
