In a few hours I’ll be off. I’m not sure what this trip will bring, but I have a group of role players within my organization I look forward to gaming with. Mainly we play Pathfinder, which has been a lot of fun, but I would like to introduce the group to a couple classic World of Darkness games.
I’ve packed Vampire the Masquerade and Hunter the Reckoning for our journey. Hopefully time will permit us an opportunity to get together.
If time allows, my intention is to run a single session game set in the town of my youth. It is the setting my friends and I used growing up. It is also an easy setting to run since I hail from a creepy desert town with a dark underside and plenty of story hooks.
Likely I’ll introduce them to the World of Darkness through Hunter the Reckoning. I love the concept of ordinary people waking up to the knowledge that reality is far greater, and more insidious, than what they have known their entire lives. Ordinary people facing extraordinary circumstance makes for an excellent horror story.
Hopefully they’ll enjoy what is brought to the table. If they do, then we may find a few classic World of Darkness games added to our rotation.
