It Hurts to Leave

lonelyroad

Forgive this continous
Walking away journey of roads.
I never meant to leave you so entirely alone.
I never meant to stay out in this cold.
But I go where I am called
That I might keep you safe.
Love.
Not a step goes by that does not hurt.
Not a stride is made without thoughts of quitting work.
But you are my everything.
And I will beat my fist upon the stone
For as long as it takes to give you a home.
Love.
Know I am sorry,
That often this life
Finds you so alone.

About Z.

Poetic pipe and cigar enthusiast rifling through the haunted memories of a not so distant past while openly wrestling with faith and God. A rambling writer with the misguided notion that he has something to say. His only redeeming qualities are his wife and children.
