Poem of the Month – “To the Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter” by Jesse Parent

Welcome to Poem of the Month!  An end(ish) of the month highlight of one poem I came across during the month that left a powerful impression on me. This month I’m highlighting Jesse Parent‘s “To the Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter.”

This poem hit close to home because it is exactly how I feel about my daughters and the young men who will one day vie for their affection. Parents take note, this should strike a nerve with us all!

About Z.

Poetic pipe and cigar enthusiast rifling through the haunted memories of a not so distant past while openly wrestling with faith and God. A rambling writer with the misguided notion that he has something to say. His only redeeming qualities are his wife and children.

  1. I cheered, I cried, I smiled. What a great find. The last part…..folks don’t skip the last part.
